Delete a clip To delete a clip highlight it in thr clips page then CLR, SELECT, confirm.(you can not undo this!!!!) To load material into Edifis. Plug source material to the A input. In CLIPS menu select which channel to record onto (1,2 or both) also set channels to rx eg V or V12 etc Go to record filename box and enter a suitable filename Go to CTRL 0 Ensure acquire channel is channel 1 Ensure using arrow keys that RS422 port is with "FLAKEY" highlighted Press MASTER to enable RS422 port Enter an in and an out timecode for the VTR on the 9way. Press GET and then PLAY on the Edifis this starts to load in. when loading is complete press REC to come out of GET mode. this produces a clip with the filename you have set. PLAYING CLIPS Once clips are in the Edifis you cannot play one until you load it (to the "playhead") To load a clip from the playlist use 1 of the following- 1 LIST then use JOG wheeel to move the pointer to the desired clip Press LOAD - this loads the clip for playout on the enabled channel eg channel 1 2 type in the clip number and press LOAD or I< key ---------- Going to a point whithin a clip To go to start use I< key - this causes the clips in timecode to be highlighted (the box around it flashes). You can trim this T/C by hitting SEL key and using JOG wheel. Need to hit SAVE key or this modification will be lost when a new clip is loaded on that channel. To auto increment the loading of clips from the clip stack you can type eg 3+1 I< this will load clip3 and move the clip pointer to clip 4 so next time you press I< it will load clip4 and move the pointer on to clip5 etc. To come out of auto increment press CLR, STOP, STOP. To load the next clip in the stack press 1+ then I< --------------- Locating to a T/C value. Enter T/C into a numeric input buffer using decimal points eg 10.00.30.00 etc then hit > (ie next frame key) m/c jumps to this. If you select "Playhead T/C" and enter eg 09.59.50.00 then press SEL or ENTER you will jump to this T/C. --------- To move forward eg 6 frames from where you are at 6+ ENTER will do this (minus to go backwards). To get to 2nd field use eg 0.5+ ENTER. ------------ Routing. Need to set up what the A and B O/Ps actually look at So eg Source A = disk A Source B = disk B ------- To view EE press CLR then STOP ( EE source is set in the REMOTE menu) press STOP to restore disk source. When in CLIPS menu CLR, REC puts m/c EE (only goes into record if you then press play). ------------- MARKS Marks are a bit like AVID locators Button 5 in CLIPS menu. You can enter on the fly or when parked. Can enter a number before pressing MARK (if you dont the default=0) Use STOP, > and STOP, < to move between marks. Deleting marks is done as follows- sit on the desired mark then CLR followed by MARK. Adjusting marks ie moving them - locate the mark then CLR then JOG, move until happy then press JOG again to set new position. -------------- To delete a clip highlight the desired clip then CLR, ENTER it asks are you sure YES (note when you have deleted a clip that there is NO UNDO !!!!!) -------------------- To delete a playlist entry (this leaves the clip ie media, alone) LIST then move the arrow to point at the required entry press CLR, LOAD. To remove an entry and also shuffle up the list to close the gap- enter eg 3-, LIST (this eg removes entry 3 and closes up the gap in the list) -------------- Playing back out to tape. Go to CTRL0 page. Select MASTER to switch on 9way etc Set channels to RX eg V or possibly V12 Mark the IN and the OUT timecodes To enable the edit CLR, LAY To make it do the edit press PLAY --------------- Alternative way to load Edifis To load Edifis using a blue box controller etc Need to first make a dummy file in Edifis Set up filename and then HOLD PLAY and RECORD for about 4 sec. This makes Edifis crash record. After several seconds come out of Record by pressing REC. This stores the file to clip box. Load tis clip to make it the loaded clip - eg 3 then LOAD to load clip 3. Need to set start T/C so go to start of clip with K button, then- UTIL 0 enter eg 09.59.20.00 and then press CALC OFFSET softkey Go to CLIPS menu and hit SAVE softkey. Now need to STRETCH the out of the clip to be long enough for the material we want to drop into Edifis. Go to UTIL 1. Type in an offset from the start T/C so eg 00.30.00.00 for half hour prog. (NOTE you CAN NOT see this as you type it !!!!) Now press STRETCH CHANNEL softkey Now go to CLIPS and press SAVE softkey. On BLUEBOX put Edifis 9WAY on say m/c C and a Digibeta source m/c on m/c B Select m/c B (it's LED lights up) and key in eg 09:59:30:00 STORE, IN While m/c B is lit up make it a chasing slave by pressin CHASE (it's LED comes on) Need to make m/c C the MASTER so SHIFT m/c C to do this (It's LED now flashes) Need to also ARM it to insert eg V12 So hold down RECORD !! and press and release m/c C ( the LCD display now says ARMED) On top red buttons select eg V 1 2 (may have to hit BANK if it wont let you) Enter rec mc IN and OUT on m/c C eg 09:59:30:00 STORE IN etc Can now press LOCATE and this will park the VT m/c (m/c B, chasing) and the Edifis (m/c C, Master) Press Auto and the machine will perform the Edit. To change preroll enter eg 500 (5 sec) thenhold STORE and press and release the < key. After de blobbing etc to lay the edifis back to tracked tape you could make the VT m/c the master and Edifis the slave or the other way round !!! All that matters is that the apropriate m/c is the one that is ARMED
